We’re punk rock and we’re cops. The haters will say you can’t be both but we’re here to break down the walls. From a young age, punk rock has impacted our lives and shaped our beliefs and values. When we became cops, we incorporated those beliefs and values into how we interact with people in this profession. We’re in this to help people, as cliché as it sounds, and that stemmed from the lyrics of every band we love. Lyrics like “make a change” stuck with us and we put every ounce of that into what we do on the job. This music is an outlet for us. From our elementary and middle school years to our adult lives. To all the punk rock cops out there, know you’re not alone. We are here. Let’s talk about the music we love and the reasons why we love… and hate this job.
In episode #1, We get to know a little bit about our hosts: hardcore BFFs, Robyn and Roger. They discuss how they discovered each other and the other punk rock cops they chat with on the ol’ Instagram. Ten Eight Memes and Unit2Back happened to bring a lot of them together. Roger and Robyn discuss how they got into punk rock and how they became cops. They talk about bands they love and their favorite generation of punk, the 90’s. They talk about how coming from the punk rock scene affected they way they do the job and how it’s helped them build rapport with people.
