Welcome to episode 30 of the Fail Forward podcast.
I can hardly believe that this episode marks six months since the launch of the Fail Forward Podcast. Thank you to everyone who has watched, listened, shared and joined the conversation.
Content over the up and coming 9-12 episodes is going to become more aimed at tree surgery business owners who I know are listening. There will still be plenty of value if you’re not a tree surgeon so do stay tuned!
In this episode I am talking about self development and why I wish my business had failed faster than it did!
Yep - you heard right. I wish I’d failed sooner.
Because if I had, I’d have learned the amazing power of self development years ago.
I’m someone who moved around a lot as a kid, played truant, failed my GCSEs, and considered myself “done with learning” the day I walked out of school for the very last time.
Working hard was my answer. But eventually that didn’t work anymore and - as I’ve shared many times before - things then fell apart.
Warren Buffett famously said, “the more you learn the more you earn”.
He was right!
My epiphany came when I read The One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey. It changed everything I thought I knew and ignited my passion for self-development.
In this episode I share how I went from a fixed mindset that learning was pointless to an avid consumer of education and self development, and how I’m using that to help tree surgery business owners in the Tree Surgery Business Academy.
