This week, to send off Black History Month in style, we are re-releasing an interview each day highlighting a Black person we’ve had on Burn It All Down in the past whose words and actions still resonate with us all.
In February 2019, Shireen talked to Dr. Renee Hess, the founder of the Black Girl Hockey Club. They talk about how Renee got into hockey, why she started BGHC, the community she's created, and diversity in hockey. In the last year, BGHC has grown so much and they have had meets up in DC with the Capitals, with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the New Jersey Devils, the Anaheim Ducks, and the Nashville Predators.
