Oh dear, some of you aren't going to want to hear what I'm about to say next, but it has to be said... Simply showing up ain't going to cut it, my friend.
The context of this episode is around the gym and our physical fitness, but the general philosophy can be applied to an aspect of life really. I'm wrapping it around the gym for two reasons - firstly because it is an applicable reminder for almost every one of us at some point of our lives and secondly, because it's an easy topic for anyone to wrap their minds around.
I've trained and coached a lot of humans over the past decade (both physically and in terms of mindset and the head-stuff) and so I see all facets of wants, goals, needs, aspirations and intentions and I observe and explore with curiosity (in others and in myself) how well our application of the theory lines up with our desired outcomes.
So this is a little rant about just that... and how we might avoid stagnation and the age-old art of bullshitting ourselves with a facade of 'showing up' yet not really doing what's required.
I hope you can take away a little something and apply it for yourself.
