78. Advocacy from the Point of View as the Patient with Colleen Rapp
If you're doubting the impact you can make as a Physical Therapist in today's world, you're in for a treat.
On this episode of The Healthcare Education Transformation Podcast, we have on again Colleen Rapp, who most recently won the Friend of Private Practice Award with the APTA.
We talk about the impact physical therapy has had on her life, what caused her to become a strong advocate for the field of physical therapy and the profession, the things she has learned through her physical therapy experiences, and the hope physical therapy was able to give to her and the people around her.
Colleen Rapp was a Pressman with the Denver Post for 37 years. She started her career with the Denver Post at the age of 19 and learned her trade as the first female apprentice in Denver Post history. For years, she was the only female in an all male pressroom. She loves to print and has worked on such publications as the WSJ, USA Today, NY Times, along with the Denver Post. Printing is a strong passion of hers. Colleen strives at being the best she can be in anything that she does. She's begun a mission to change Student Funding for Physical Therapy Students, which began by raising money through auctions, which culiminated in producing an online concert from scratch that has been viewed by over 10,000 people , creating impact that will help many students for many years.
