Travis Reigstad was a charter member of the original HHA Sports Pro Staff, going back to the late 2000's. A Wisconsin native and longtime supporter of the brand, he helped us out at a few trade shows and sang our praises to all of his hunting friends. Little did I know that a decade later, we would become close friends with a shared heart for helping others and have the special bond of being born again Christians.
On top of a career in EMS, Travis is a bit of an entrepreneur as well, starting a small business after a conversation and napkin art session with a friend at Applebee's one afternoon. Sitting on an idea for a cell phone tether for several years, the extra push from that get together brought about The Dangler Case. A simple yet ingenious design, it fits any cell phone, installs in seconds and clips to you, your pack or anywhere else that you want it. Great for outdoorsman, runners, bikers, hikers, EMS workers, you name it, The Dangler is must have for anyone that doesn't want to drop their phone.
His job has put Travis in countless situations seeing people on their worst days but he wouldn't trade it for the world and a passion for serving runs back generations in his family. His brother Brandon is a GWOT Veteran who battles PTSD so the Reigstad's are all too familiar with the impact it has on those who serve. Sadly, twice in the last twelve months Travis has lost close friends to suicide. Colt Treasure and Nate Walker both took their own lives, leaving families and friends behind to pick up the pieces. After Nate's passing, Travis created Shooting Out The Stigma of PTSD In Vets, Police, EMS and Fire on Facebook to raise more awareness of the issue. He also intends to utilize his love of archery to rally people around the cause and we will be there to support him any way that we can.
Reigstad also goes into great detail for the very first time of a traumatic incident on the job that is never far from his mind. I have the utmost respect for the men and women who serve our country and protect our streets, keeping our families safe. The things they have to witness will never go away completely and helping that community deal with those traumas in a positive way through archery and the outdoors is a big part of our mission here at HHAUSA.
I have been blessed with so many amazing friendships over the years and Travis Reigstad is one of those people. In spite of the hectic schedules that we both keep, we find time to check in with each other several times throughout the year and when the stars align, share the archery range together for an afternoon. Always eager to make a difference in the world, I am honored to have a man like Travis in my circle of friends and as a staunch supporter of HHAUSA.
