CBS News projects Democrat Katie Hobbs will be the next governor of Arizona, defeating Republican Kari Lake, a favorite of former President Trump. It'll be the first time Arizona has had a Democratic Governor and two Democratic senators since 1951. Sources close to former President Donald Trump tell CBS News, he intends to launch his 2024 presidential campaign tonight, from Mar-a-Lago. He's been telling allies he plans to move forward, despite taking some heat within the GOP over disappointing results in the midterms. Russia's war on Ukraine dominated today's G20 Summit talks. President Biden is meeting with other world leaders in Indonesia. Delegates discussed whether Ukraine should seek a peace deal. The University of Virginia says all three students who were shot to death Sunday night played for the school's football team. Police allege they were killed by a fellow student and former player, who was arrested yesterday after an hours-long manhunt. Four students at the University of Idaho have been killed, in what the local mayor calls a "crime of passion." police are treating this as a homicide case, but are saying little else about the investigation. Protests against the Islamic regime in Iran have been going on for weeks and the government is still trying to crack down. It has confirmed the first death sentence for a protester, someone accused of setting fire to a government building.
