Gordon Strachan joins Kammy and Ben this week on the Proper Football Podcast. He reveals just what made Sir Alex Ferguson a managerial genius, why Fergie used to make his Aberdeen players stand in the North Sea when they were injured (and at night when they'd really ticked him off) and why he was often the recipient of the hairdryer. He also recalls Sir Alex’s angry reaction after a Scottish Cup Final win and how he was still giving Gordon digs about it 40 years later.
Elsewhere, he recalls winning the league title with Leeds in 1992, and the second division two years prior with ‘the Dirty Dozen’ and how he angered one of his team-mates so much they threatened to chin him.
Gordon also explains why the name ‘Bratislava’ still gives him nightmares, what it was like to be managed by Jock Stein, the strangest place he was ever asked for an autograph and why the three officials walked off the pitch after HE was shown a red card.
