In honor of November being Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month, we will devote this Saturday’s program to patients and their families who have been touched by this disease. As you will hear, we have made amazing progress in the diagnosis, treatment and research of Pancreatic Cancer - especially at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where we have the LaBahn Pancreatic Cancer Program, named after MaryAnn and Pete LaBahn who generously endowed our program. This amazing effort across science, clinical medicine, and our community could not have come too fast – Pancreatic Cancer is currently the second leading cause of cancer death in the state of Wisconsin and will soon be #2 in the country. This Saturday you will hear from Drs. Nikki Lytle and Mandana Kamgar as well as nurse practitioners, Gabriella Pyptiuk and Natalie Lang. They are followed by a number of patients - their amazing stories of strength, courage and resilience make for the perfect program on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, so please tune in.
