In this episode, Luis explores what it means to dis-identify with our thoughts and sensations. Many of us have come to believe, "I think, therefore I am." As such, we can become overwhelmed by the millions of thoughts that invade our by everyday.
But what would it mean to relate to a thought rather than to identify with it? Luis discusses the practice of witnessing our thoughts from a place of curiosity, rather than internalizing them from a place of judgement.
This is different from by passing or numbing in that we are not ignoring the thought or pretending that it isn't there. Instead, we can notice the thought and notice, "This thought is not me; it is something in me."
Luis guides us through a practice of noticing our thoughts, witnessing the multiple sensations in our body in response to that thought, and how to question the thought.
