GBV crimes on the spotlight as SA marks 16 Days of Activism of Activism
Yesterday marked the beginning of 16 Days of Activism of Activism for no Violence Against Women and Children. The annual campaign puts the spotlight on issues of femicide and gender-based violence that affect both women and children. It runs from the 25th of November to 10th December 2022. Despite the noble intentions of the campaign, over the years, South Africa has witnessed ever increasing levels of violence against women, girls, children, people with disabilities, elderly women, the LGBTQIA+ community and sex workers. Some of the most horrific violence against women and children has been committed during the course of the 16 days of the campaign. We spoke to SANAC Men's Sector Secretary General Dr. Mbulelo Dyasi
