Finding a financial profession is hard! And how do you know if they are any good or not? And how do you decide if they are the right one for you?
In this episode we are going to talk you through our big red flags that the individual isn’t right for you. And along the way we will share some tips to help you find the right financial expert for you.
The absolute minimum you should be looking for:
- On the FCA register as a regulated individual
- They have at least “level 4” qualifications
Red Flags:
- Your adviser should not be like an expensive gym membership that you don’t use
- If you have financial products, but aren’t sure what they are for or how they work
- Any communication from them leaves you more baffled than before they communicated
- If the conversations are one way (is that even a conversation?)
- If you are in a couple and the adviser doesn’t engage with one half of the couple
Listen to the end when we explain (not unsurprisingly for us) why we think it’s important that your adviser has opinions and is happy to voice them.
