Billy Wagner and Mike Pelfrey on Coaching Baseball

Jay Horwitz checks in with Billy Wagner and Mike Pelfrey, former teammates, and current baseball coaches at different levels. Mike is currently the pitching coach at Wichita State (his alma mater) and Billy is the head baseball coach at The Miller School in Albemarle, Virginia. Billy and Mike give their take on coaching and how facing adversity as a player is the only way to really get through to the kids playing today. They also reflect on their time playing for the Mets and Jay mentions some tough losses for Mike, including the fact that he gave up a home run to the first batter to every get up at Citi Field. The latest round of Hall of Fame candidates has been revealed and Billy Wagner remains on the ballot after a few years of getting closer and closer, Billy tells Jay what the hardest part of that process has been.
