If you haven't taken a look at the angelic face of today's guest on the cover art for this episode, go take a look. Because when we talk to guests about what it's like being in the middle of a war zone, it's quite often trained military personnel. Sure, Helen is trained, but for love, not war.

So, this year when trouble unfolded for our Ukranian friends, Helen (after pledging in her previous chat with me she wouldn't be embarking on another crisis for a while and instead taking some time for herself) packed her backpack and plonked herself right there in the thick of it. 

Bombs, guns, conflict, terror, uncertainty and trauma. 

I don't know about you, but I've never thought too deeply about the reality of what that might be like... because, let's be honest, it kind of just feels like that's just stuff for the movies and TV.
