Happy Soccer Podcast Day! Groups E and F were quite the thing! Japan wins Group E with victories over Germany and Spain (why bother talking about that loss to Costa Rica?), but they didn't win without controversy! Bone and Beam talked about goal line technology, VAR and much much more on that storyline. And Spain survived the group basically on the strength of their opening win over Costa Rica, as goal differential allowed them to get the second spot in this group ahead of Germany, who looked for a few minutes like they might just lose to Costa Rica. Meanwhile, Belgium is distraught as they are eliminated, despite some brilliant chances for some of their stars. Morocco continues to impress, and they along with Croatia found their way through in Group F.
