Podcast - Episode 119 - Mark Stanton - Leadership Coach and former Police Officer
On this week's episode of #Leadership - What's on your mind? I speak to Mark Stanton.
Mark is an authentic, open and engaging leadership coach and mentor. His aim is to help strengthen, support and enhance the potential of everyone he works with. As a former police officer who served for three decades with both West Midlands and Merseyside Police, achieving the rank of Chief Superintendent, he understands the challenges and impact that senior leadership can have in operational, business and personal terms.
Mark’s ethos is that true leadership starts with yourself, but to get to know who you actually are can be a voyage of exploration, challenge and sometimes an emotional roller coaster. As head of department for over 500 people he oversaw transformational change programmes saving £millions whilst ensuring that the people elements of change were front and centre of all he did – whether this was his own team or wider stakeholder groups. Having operated at the heart of complex and challenging operational environments including armed policing and riot situations Mark knows how to challenge and be challenged on his own views. He is known for applying critical thinking and positively disrupting the way things are done.
Mark is open, honest and easy to relate to. He will engage and inspire on a human-to-human level. Mark believes in justice and fairness and he brings all of these qualities into his sessions. Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management.
