Finally Free to Be Me: Sharing and Shedding Stories with Krissy Holloway
The beautiful inside and out Krissy Holloway is a Mum of three, Glam-ma to six who lives on a 40 acre farm in South Australia, owns a Boutique Day Spa and facilitates women's circles and kid's mindfulness programs on her beautiful property.
Krissy and I found ourselves recently inside of a business group speaking about sharing our businesses and the reasons why we, as women in particular, can sometimes sabotage sharing our truth because we have an underlying fear of being truly seen and being truly heard. It was inside of this space that Krissy had a huge realisation around how her past dysfunctional relationship was limiting her level of comfort and safety when sharing her soul's work.
In this episode we dive into:
- the key realisation that Krissy had around a past relationship having all the hallmarks of domestic violence and how this relationship still echoes the stories of low self-worth decades later, and how she is now becoming more FREE to be herself when questioning this crappy conditioning
- the attributes Krissy now identifies as DV, and the heartfelt advice around controlling behaviour and needing to ask for permission for anything that Krissy would now go back and gift to her younger self
- how Krissy's set point of self-worth was so negatively impacted by the pattern of walking on eggshells around a partner who swung from alcohol-fuelled abuse, to deep charm and flattery in their circle of friends and community, to love bombing following each episode, which she turned into needing to try harder or do better as a partner
- Krissy reputation in her 20s and 30s for having a quick temper and being labelled "B1" for biggest b!tch in town, and our resulting chat about anger being a natrual consequence of having your boundaries crossed and how flawed our societal conditioiing around women standing up for themselves automatuically being mis-labeleld (even by ourselves) as being a b!tch
- Krissy's recent experience with cervical cancer, and the resulting aftermath from being thrown into medical menopause, and how drastically different her experience through hospitalisation and medical procedure this time around with her now husband Glen was, as compared to during the deeply dysfunctional earlier relationship
- Krissy past 20 years' experience as a masseuse and beautician and how both COVID and cervical cancer has demanded a pivot into the soul work Krissy is called to do - and how she is now entering a whole new space and grace of holding space for women and children to come and connect and play together
Thank you so much to Krissy, who was feeling tender about sharing her truth, but nonetheless stood up,
