Episode 359 "Moments With Foo": Cynthia Herbert Adams’ Storytelling of the Past and Its Lasting Impact on the Present
For the headstrong few who accomplished feats of lasting impact in their field, it takes expertise, courage, and dedication to the craft. Cynthia Herbert-Bruschi Adams, Ph.D. did this through her ability to derive vivid narratives from real events. Cindy Adams began her career in academia where she is now a UCONN Professor Emerita and a retired psychologist. Early in her career, she wrote journal articles, textbooks, and trade books. Her venture in storytelling led to the publication of 5 books, one of which is the historical fiction, “The Red Toque: Love and Loss in the Time of Tito” - a story of a Slovenian family fleeing the ravages of war in WW2 Europe. In this episode, Foo and Cindy talk about the book and its value in a time of unrest and seemingly unending conflicts.
