The holidays can be an overwhelming time for people with ADHD. But despite the extra stress, it doesn’t have to be a time of stagnation or feeling overwhelmed. Here are a few tips for thriving during the holidays with ADHD.
First and foremost, know your non-negotiables. Take stock of what you need to do to keep your business alive and running during the holidays. It’s essential to stay present with your clients and ensure they know you’re available. At the same time, be mindful of your own energy and capacity. Establishing boundaries and being honest with yourself about what you can handle will go a long way in keeping your business on track.
Second, create systems that work for you. For example, if you forget tasks or appointments, create a schedule that clearly outlines what needs to be done and when. Use reminders or alarms to help you stay on track. Having transparent systems in place can help reduce the stress of feeling like you need to be everywhere at once.
Finally, don’t forget to take care of yourself during the holidays. Make sure you have time for yourself and do activities that bring you joy. You can’t take care of your clients
