CITRUS BOWL DAY | Keys to victory for the LSU Tigers against Purdue Boilermakers
Happy New Year and Happy Bowl Gameday! The LSU Tigers take on the Purdue Boilermakers on Monday in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Purdue is entering this game without two of their most important leaders: head coach Jeff Brohm who left Purdue to become the head coach for the Louisville Cardinals, and starting QB Aidan O'Connell who opted out of the Citrus Bowl as he prepares for the NFL Draft. In addition to those two, Purdue will also be without over half of their passing offense this season as leading WR Charlie Jones and TE Payne Durham also have decided to opt out. What Purdue will have, however, is leading rusher Devin Mockabee who has racked up just shy of 1,000 rush yards this season. So how will LSU stop this depleted Boilermaker offense without BJ Ojulari, Ali Gay, and Jaqueline Roy?
The Tigers are a 14.5 point favorites over Purdue, a massive nine point jump from the opening line. Can the Tigers cover the spread even without three key defensive players and two of their three leading WRs?
