United Way of Rhode Island, Providence Join United Way of RI on Saturday, February 2, to help assemble mac and cheese, rice and beans, and minestrone soup meals that will feed 20,000 Rhode Islanders. Families welcome. Two sessions available: 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. To register, contact Janice at janice.pothierpac@uwri.org. The Empowerment Factory, Pawtucket The Empowerment Factory, which is dedicated to giving children the skills they need to lead happier, healthier lives, needs an office assistant to make phone calls, organize files, perform data entry, transcribe correspondence, write emails, and help with grants/grant reporting. They also need a social media coordinator to manage the organization’s social media accounts and published content, as well as develop a social media strategy and implement a proactive process for capturing online reviews. Inspiring Minds, Providence Inspiring Minds is seeking volunteers for their Kindergarten Project, which partners college students with Kindergarten classrooms to bring individualized attention to the Kindergarten students. Two college students and one community volunteer are placed in participating Kindergarten classrooms during their literacy period for 2 hours/day.
