I never get sick of speaking to first responders and emergency service workers. They were some of the humans I was most curious to learn about when I started the show and my passion and empathy for what lay beneath their journeys is as strong today as it ever was. This conversation with Keith Hanks is every bit as raw and vulnerable as they come as we speak about the generations of first responders in Keith's family and the knowledge of the trauma that sat silently beneath the surface, driving Keith to serve 21 years in the fire service before retiring due to complex PTSD. 

The persona, the anger and the family friction Keith experienced is not something of an unusual nature for many first responders, yet many are yet to experience the luxury of speaking up and getting the chance to better their relationships with themselves and their loved ones.
