In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Capitals defeat of the Columbus Blue Jackets by a score of 6-2. With a 6-2 win tonight against Columbus, the Capitals won their seventh straight road game and established a new franchise record for longest road winning streak. The Capitals have been playing well lately. During the streak, which began on Dec. 5 at Edmonton, Washington has outscored opponents 32-12 (4.57 GF/GP, 1.71 GA/GP). In addition, Washington has converted on eight of 18 power play opportunities (44.4%) and have killed off 19 of 22 opposing power play opportunities (86.4%).
Later Dan talks about the stellar play of Darcy Kuemper. Darcy Kuemper has posted a record of 6-0-3 with two shutouts, a 2.16 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage in his last ten starts, dating back to Nov. 23.
Dan then talks about TJ Oshie who had a great night. T.J. Oshie scores his sixth goal of the season to tie the game 1-1. In 48 career games against the Blue Jackets, Oshie has recorded 28 points (12g, 16a).
