If you hang out on financial forums or listen to personal finance podcasts, you’ve probably heard about FIRE. If you haven’t, it’s all about Financial Independence, Retire Early.
At its extreme end, FIRE is about living as frugally as possible today with the aim of being able to quit working as early as possible. Be that living on beans on toast every day this week, so that in a few years’ time you can be permanently living on a beach.
In this episode we’re going run through the theory and the practicalities of FIRE. Maybe our profession leans away from FIRE because we see the curve balls life throws at our clients. But we do believe that you can pick and mix. Take the bits of FIRE you like and use that to improve your financial wellbeing today.

And our absolute favourite aspect of FIRE is that you absolutely positively have to be investing. It’s the only way to build wealth and long term financial security if you aren’t planning on inheriting millions or marrying millions.
