Darcy Kuemper and the Washington Capitals blank the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tom Wilson and Nick Backstrom return
In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Capitals defeat of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Darcy Kuemper made 37 saves for his fourth shutout of the season, most in the NHL. It was a game that saw Columbus outshoot the home team 37-19 and hold the puck in Washington’s zone. Eric Gustafson 7th goal of the season. Gustafsson now has 15 points in his last 11 games, with all seven of his goals coming over that span. Since Dec. 17, he has gotten a point in all but two games. The Game also saw the return of Tom Wilson and Nick Backstrom. Backstrom had a good game, winning five of six draws and managing three hits, one shot and a block. Tom Wilson showed restraint and didn't get into a fight but he did throw his weight around. Wilson's reputation.
