What does Walker Howard's decision to enter the transfer portal mean for the future of LSU QB room?
LSU true freshman quarterback Walker Howard announced on Wednesday afternoon that he has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Howard sat behind starter Jayden Daniels and sophomore Garrett Nussmeier and likely would find himself in the same position in his second year with the Tigers as Brian Kelly announced Jayden Daniels would be the starter in 2023 with an opportunity for Nussmeier to compete. But why are so many LSU fans so distraught, not about Howard and his decision to transfer, but about Daniels? Also, what does Howard's decision to transfer affect the remaining QBs at LSU?
Plus, sophomore edge rusher Zavier Carter has also announced his decision to enter the transfer portal. The former 4-star recruit out of Atlanta has played in 18 games with zero starts in his two years at LSU. The Tigers have former Oregon edge rusher Bradyn Swinson coming in next year along with top edge rusher recruit Dashawn Womack. But is that enough depth at the edge rusher/defensive line/linebacker position for LSU next season?
