Small business owners have had enough of Eskom woes
The National Energy Regulator of South Africa-Nersa has given Eskom a go ahead to increase tarrifs by 18-point-65 percent. The increases will be effective from the first of April this year. The National Energy Regulator of South AFrica - NERSA - said the decision to increase tariffs was a tough one given the financial constrains consumers are facing. Businesses across the country are severely affected by the rolling blackouts especially small business owners who are struggling to keep their entities afloat. Some businesses have been forced to permanently shut down as they could not absorb the additional costs, leading to further job losses. As things stand South Africans are being forced to make trade-offs between their food security and energy needs.
