"Fundamentals Always Win Out" Weekly Market Outlook January 16-20th.
Jarod Creed with JC Marketing visits with Chris on the market outlook as we march toward the February insurance discovery period.
Jarod dissects much of the information disseminated from the January 12 USDA report. There were some surprises in the acreage numbers. Jarod goes through the details explaining what some of the information may mean to the market place in the weeks ahead.
Jarod sees a bright outlook short term with the fundamental reality that we are still setting on a very tight supply while at the same time Argentina and other fundamentals paint a supportive price picture. However, the managed money does not seem super interested without new news to bring them back into the fold.
Jarod and Chris finish up the conversation discussing the importance of wrapping up 2022 sales especially paying close attention to basis levels.
Even though Jarod is friendly short term to the markets, he encourages the listeners to take advantage of 2023 market opportunities by placing price targets (that meet your sales objectives) in the event we see continued price strength in the next several weeks to get some more sales on the books to reduce 2023 margin risk.
