What Difference Does 1 TSP of SUGAR Make In Your Body
When you wake up in the morning, there should be about 1 teaspoon of sugar throughout all of your 5 liters of blood. That’s really not that much—think about adding a teaspoon to your coffee!
Having too much sugar in your blood is toxic, and having even a little bit too much can put you at risk of diabetes.
But when you were young and ate a sugar-loaded ice cream sundae, your body could get right back down to the 1 tsp-range in 90 minutes. Why? Hormones.
When we’re young, we are sensitive to insulin-driven hormones, but as time goes on, we become more and more resistant.
The long-term impacts of that worn-out system can include diabetes, weight gain, Alzheimer’s, high triglyceride levels, heart disease, and cancers.
