Major General Joseph Arbuckle entered the Army as a private in 1969. He deployed to Viet Nam as an infantry 1st Leutenant, serving as an infantry advisor Team 22 with the South Vietnamese Army. Thereafter, he attended ordinance missile system training and spent most of his career in the missile field. During his last 10 years on duty he served as an Army strategist focusing on national level strategy and logistics.
During his 32yr Army career he earned: Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Bronze Star for Valor with 2 oak leave clusters, 6 Legions of Merit, 4 Meritorious Service Medals, 2 Vietnamese Crosses of Gallantry with Silver Stars, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Army Parachutist Badge, etc. Inducted into the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School, Engineer, Ordnance, and Army Materiel Command Halls of Fame.
