At this point, who knows if we’re actually in a recession, and how big that recession might actually be. But that doesn’t change the fact that Wall Street is on pins and needles and the stock market has seen a fair share of ups and downs in the last 6 months. According to the Wall Street Journal, Despite signs that inflation has started to recede, economists still expect higher interest rates to push the U.S. economy into a recession in the coming year. On average, business and academic economists polled by the Journal put the probability of a recession in the next 12 months at 61%. What I really wanted to know, and my guess is you do too, is what in the world should you do with your investments in a recession. I called in Money’s Investing Editor, Mallika Mitra to weigh in on how you should be thinking about investing this year, tips to move past fear-based investing, what percentage of your paycheck should you be investing with, and why are women handling the stock market twists and turns better than men. It’s fascinating.
