In an exercise of propaganda that would make George Orwell blush, Georgia Representative Andrew Clyde tells the American people that the January 6 insurrection never happened and that the behavior of the people in the US Capitol that day "looked like a normal tourist visit."
With those absurd statements, Congressman Clyde likely has made himself a star witness at all future trials of those who breached the Capitol, damaged property and assaulted police officers. Each defendant now has a basis to subpoena Clyde and force him to testify in their defense that there was no insurrection on January 6 and that the people in the Capitol behaved just like tourists on any other day. Here's how all this may play out in court.
