Toxic positivity is the belief that no matter how awful a situation is, people should maintain a positive mindset and positivity is encouraged as a way of coping. It is the tipping point when blanket optimism dismisses the other person's feelings. This "good vibes only" approach to life therefore also denies people the support they need to cope with whatever it is they are facing. You can also be toxically positive towards yourself; something that Lauren and Nicole discovered when they tackled this surprisingly vulnerable and exposing week. Psychotherapist and author Anna Mathur joins the ladies as the expert of the week to assist them with this most uncomfortable of practices.
