Brandon Gonez once co-hosted a CTV morning show called ‘Your Morning’, and he was also an anchor for a Toronto news station, CP24. Brandon left CP24 to created his own media company called Gonez Media, and today Gonez media is the fast-growing online media company in Canada and home to The Brandon Gonez Show.

6:20 In a recent interview someone asked you... ‘What challenges did you face while building your business, and how did you overcome them?” Your answer was “It’s not cheap to build a media company from the ground up. It requires so many things, including production equipment, marketing, payroll, and more.” Can you expand on that? Did you get financing from a bank, an investor, and if so, did you give up an equity?

In the era of 6ix Buzz, Straight Outta The 6, etc… Do you ever feel like posting that kind of content? 6ix Buzz has 2M followers, they post the kind of content that gets the most followers, views likes and comment.

17:09 You started Gonez Media because you didn’t believe Toronto’s Media was measuring up to Toronto’s mantra “Diversity is our Strength”. What I want to know is… Before leaving CP24 (which is owned by the biggest media company in Canada) did you present them or any other media outlets with your idea of having your own show before going out on your own?  

19:30 Now that we understand the business side of Gonez media a bit better. Can you please explain to us how an online platform generates revenue? I know the first 10-episode of The Brandon Gonez show was in partnership with Hennessy and Uber but can you go more in-depth and tell us more about it?
