Two astronauts aboard the country’s space station completed a spacewalk at 12:16 am today, according to the China Manned Space Agency. Song Wenjing has more.

Fei Junlong and Zhang Lu completed the spacewalk, while crew member Deng Qingming supported his crewmates from inside the space station. The spacewalk lasted about seven hours with Fei and Zhang completing the installation of extension pumps outside the station’s Mengtian lab module.

One of the crucial features of this spacewalk was that the astronauts had to cover a long distance, especially astronaut Zhang Lu. He used about 140 handrails【扶手】during his spacewalk, which was pretty challenging.

这次出舱任务，它一个很显著的特点就是，航天员转移的路径比较长，也是前期任务所没有的。特别是航天员张陆，他在舱外爬行的扶手，总共需要爬行140个扶手左右，还是比较辛苦的。

Their mission required a tracking system that could cover more space and work longer hours to ensure smooth communication with the ground control team.

The death toll from the catastrophic earthquakes that hit Turkey has risen to more than 18,000. Rescue work continues four days after the natural disaster. Stephen Rancourt has more.

The railroad tracks passing through Turkey’s quake epicenter【震中】area were bent like wires. Turkish State Media reported that water levels reached 200 meters inland following the earthquake. The president of Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology said the powerful earthquakes triggered a geological shift that moved tectonic【构造的】plates 3 meters. According to theTurkish government, 110,000 rescue workers were involved in search and rescue operations as of yesterday, and over 160 flights and 22 ships had delivered relief supplies.Several rescue teams from across China rushed to Turkey to help, including the Blue Sky Rescue team, a professional non-profit search-and-rescue organization. The first team members arrived yesterday in the southern Turkish city of Malatya, one of the worst-hit areas. They were the first international rescue team to enter the area.

We used life detectors to find two signs of life under the rubble【碎石】, and we also used thermal【热量的】imaging. Later we heard a knocking sound. Our rescue team is mainly responsible for digging rescue channels. A local rescue team and residents helped us clear the debris.

进入现场我们用生命探测仪探测到下面有两个生命轨迹。我们还用热成像探测了，同样有信号、有反应。后来我们用敲击声，也听到了回应。我们蓝天救援队主要是负责打开通道，当地的救援队和群众配合我们，把打开通道的碎石开始往外转运。

Upon arrival, the team members spent only one hour to organize the equipment and immediately rushed to the scene. Over 200 members are expected to stay for 15 days.

The “golden time” of 72 hours after the quake is actually a matter of probability. It is possible for survivors to be rescued on the fourth or fifth day after an earthquake. We will not give up until the end.

Another Chinese rescue team has helped pull three survivors out of the rubble as of 8pm yesterday. The team, together with local rescuers, dragged a pregnant woman out of the ruins at around 1:30am local time in Antakya city. 周四（02/10）晚上8点，一支中国救援队刚从废墟中救出三名幸存者。哈塔伊安塔基亚市，当地时间凌晨1:30左右，他们与土耳其当地救援力量通力合作，从废墟中成功营救出一名孕妇。

Shanghai will send a rescue team of 12 to help with relief and rescue work in quake-stricken areas of Turkey and Syria. Seven of them applied for passports at the Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration Bureau today. Tang Xiaofan has more.

A bombshell report claiming the United States was responsible for the bombing of Russia’s Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea last year has been branded as “utterly false” by the White House. Veteran investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, made the explosive claim on Wednesday. Lei Shuran has more.

本月8号，普利策奖得主、资深调查记者西摩·赫什（Seymour Hersh）扔下一颗“重磅炸弹”，声称美国应对去年俄罗斯在波罗的海的北溪管道爆炸事件负起责任，该报告被白宫指为“完全错误”。记者雷舒然带来更多详细报道。

The article, based on an account from one unnamed national security source “with direct knowledge of the operational planning”, alleged the U.S. sabotaged【蓄意破坏】the Russia-to-Germany gas pipelines via a series of underwater blasts on September 26, after planting remotely detonated explosives three months earlier under the cover of the BALTOPS 22 NATO exercise.The article claims the plan involved using specialist U.S. Navy deep-sea divers, supported by Norwegian counterparts, to plant shaped C4 charges on the four pipelines, 80m underwater.According to Hersh, U.S. President Joe Biden gave the order after months of back-and-forth discussions between the White House, CIA and Pentagon, and that planning for the sabotage began in December 2021 under National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. Hersh also found something special from Biden’s previous statement.

We’ve always understood that our Western colleagues presented the matter in such a way that, while the investigation was in progress and before it came to an end, they shouldn’t let Russian representatives take part, that all this was just a smokescreen.

When asked about the report, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson responded that Washington will have to bear responsibility if the conclusions of the investigation prove the accusation to be true.

The Nord Stream gas pipeline is a major piece of transnational infrastructure, and the explosion had a significant negative impact on global energy markets and ecological environment. If Hersh’s investigative report is true, this is an unacceptable act and those responsible must be held accountable. The U.S. side should provide an explanation to the world in a responsible manner.

Construction of the pair of Nord Stream 2 pipelines was completed in September 2021 and would have doubled the amount of cheap gas available to Germany and Western Europe. However, the project never went into operation after Germany shelved it shortly before the start of the Russian-Ukraine conflict.
