How to Be a Proverbs 31 Woman Without Going Crazy
What does a Proverbs 31 woman like?
Here are the great characteristics of a proverbs 31 woman and how to live out the qualities of a virtuous woman today!
What is it Like to Be a Proverbs 31 Woman?
Today you want to share with you how to be a proverbs 31 woman and why we should be a proverbs 31 woman and how to possess the great characteristics of a virtuous woman.
Proverbs 31 Woman
So now I know how many of you look at proverbs 31 I was like, that is so impossible to do. Well, I want to share with you a story. When we were dealing with so many health problems and just getting overwhelmed, we had just moved to Richmond, Virginia and from St Louis, Missouri and to work with the mission board here and we were excited. But yet our health kind of seem to follow us. It's almost like we pack them in a suitcase and brought them with us and, and so it was getting difficult again in our history. We've already had heart problems, we have obesity, we have cancer, we have all those issues with health.
Traits of a Proverbs 31 Woman
I want to share with you a story about my mentor and inspiration, Kim Davis, who unfortunately died at the age of 58. At her funeral, her family, her husband and her children got up and read all of proverbs 31 because she, she displayed that in her life. She displayed a proverbs 31 woman and you can too, but it takes looking at the scripture kind of in, in the way that God intended. It's not a laundry list of everything we have to do because my one is, it's a lot. And you may look at us like, well that ain't gonna happen and we can kind of have fun with some of the verses, which I do and lots of the videos. But proverbs 31 is a description of a worthy woman and a worthy woman is when you read through the different verses her husband trust in her, you know, it talks about she rises and make sure early in the morning I make sure her family has food.
She prepares for winter when it's not even winter yet. She does all of these things, but here's what she's not doing and this is kind of what our culture is into. She's not busy body and she's not creating busy-ness. She's creating Christ's likeness. And because sometimes we get so caught up in being busy, you know, we've got our kids and all of these programs and we're running ragged. We've got all of these issues that the Sabbath has now become a work day. You know, we don't even take time to rest. But you should because Sabbath is something to be kept as a day of rest.
She is a woman that she says when she opens her mouth and wisdom and teaching of kindnesses in her tongue, she's a woman that trusts the Lord no matter what circumstances she's in.
Well today that's not going to happen in my life by my daily activities. It's only going to happen by my daily discipline in exercise and take care of my body as a temple
And that's what I want you to get from this. We can be a proverbs 31 woman, not because we have to fulfill all every one of these, you know, 21 verses, but because we're focused on what has god called me to do, how can I help my family be prepared for whatever comes along, both in physical strength, your health and spiritual strength, and how can I be an example of God's glorious grace to those around me?
How to Be a Proverbs 31 Woman
That's how we are a proverbs 31 woman. So if you are dealing with health problems, just get over it. It is time to get up. Rise up out of that chair, stop complaining and let's start making some steps forward and make a lifestyle change
If you're like, if you say, well, I got too much pain, well then you get a little two-pound weight and you just start lifting two pounds. Maybe it's a soup kitchen. Maybe it's you know, I don't know, just something that's two pants and you just start doing some daily exercises like that when you're, if you're just going to sit on the couch and watch TV all day, then do it.
It's fine to pray about what you want to do down the road, but I want you to pray about what you're going to do today. How are you going to, she stretches out her hands. She extends her hand to the poor. How are you helping those? How has God called you to help those people and start reaching out and stop looking inward and start looking outward for what God has called you to do? That's a proverbs 31 woman characteristics you should strive to possess.
