This week, on Hockey Talk, Patrick & Dave lament how far their teams have fallen. Pat's beloved Blues confirmed they are in full reboot mode as they traded another key piece of their 2019 Stanley Cup winning team, former Conn Smythe award winner, and captain, Ryan O'Reilly to the Toronto Maple Leafs. It is a fantastic pickup for the Leafs but it left an obviously bad taste in Pat's mouth. Meanwhile, Dave's Capitals are barely hanging in there. But with Alex Ovechkin gone for the foreseeable future, getting routed (despite the amazingly fantastic atmosphere) in their Stadium Series game with the Carolina Hurricanes, and with absolutely nothing in the way of secondary scoring, the 2018 Stanley Cup Champs look almost out of it as well. With the trade deadline fast approaching, what deals might still be made? The guys discuss this, and more on this week's Hockey Talk.
