Jacques Bertrand has written 6 books on Southeast Asia, the topics ranging from political change, ethnic conflict, to democratization. He is currently a visiting scholar at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center, Stanford University; Lee Kong Chian NUS-Stanford Fellow on Contemporary Southeast Asia, Stanford University; and professor of political science and director of the M.A. program in Asia-Pacific studies at the Asian Institute, Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto.
