10. LDS Come Follow Me -- Matt 8, Mark 2-4, Luke 7 -- Jesus breaks rules and norms to show what His Kingdom is about (Come Follow Me Feb 27 - Mar 5, 2023)

These chapters contain some of my FAVORITE EVENTS from the ministry of Jesus, and they have so many profound lessons. We’ll talk about the healing of the Centurion’s servant and how that teaches us that Jesus values faith more than worthiness. We’ll discuss how some of Jesus’ teachings have been misused to justify terrible actions towards family members who identify as LGBTQ. We discuss what Jesus meant when he taught that the sabbath was made for man, but not man for the Sabbath, the raising of the son of the Widow of Nain, why John the Baptist wondered whether Jesus was actually the promised Messiah, and end with the touching story of the sinful woman bathing Jesus’ feet with her tears and how her faith brought about her forgiveness.
