Jesus, you don’t have what it takes. Lent Devotional Series - Final Sayings of Jesus, Part 2: Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.
I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145:1-3)
The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.” There was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:36-43)
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)
Spin and Burn by Aaron Strumpel
i may yet fade and die
…but you will see me through…
in the springtime, i will see you
top the hill, i will meet you
in the springtime, i will feel again
winter's over, i will live again
in the springtime, i will hope again
mind will clear, i will dream again
in the springtime
