It was the year of Nicole Kidman winning by a nose, Michael Moore getting booed, and Roman Polanski getting a standing ovation in absentia — every Oscar year has its weirdness, but 2003 might be hard to top. A look back at the ceremony that took place days after the invasion of Iraq, with Ben Affleck, Jennier Lopez, and Jennifer Garner all in attendance. Truly a time to be alive.
