Welcome to episode 1296, in which host Victoria Cece interviews Beatrice Zocche
this week on The Next Generation.
The Next Generation where Victoria Cece interviews young Italian wine people shaking up the wine scene.
More about today’s winery:
Our vineyards are located in Veneto (Northeast Italy), a region that has always been renowned for its wine production. We carefully tend to 15 hectares (approximately 37 acres) which are placed in the following wine districts:
The limestone soil of Valpolicella is the homeland of the indigenous grapes Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, from which we obtain our red wines.
In this area we use the typical Pergola training system to grow our vines. Our vineyards are 15 kilometres (9 miles) from our winery just North of Verona city center
The volcanic soil of this wine area confers great minerality to our most intriguing white wine, the Soave Doc. The grape variety we grow is the autochthonous Garganega.
In the area around Padua we grow the grape varieties Glera and Pinot Grigio. In these vineyards, we use the guyot training system. The soil, rich in clay and sand, gives freshness and crispness to our white wines.

More about the host:
Victoria Cece is a food and beverage storyteller whose curiosity is somewhere deep in a bowl of pasta or a bottle of wine. A fool for history, you can find her reading up about ancient grape varietals or wandering around a little Italian town eating everything in sight, under her alias Slutti Spaghetti.
