06/08/2023 Autumn gardening with Green Adelaide
Green Adelaide is a statutory board established in July 2020 by the Government of South Australia, with a vision to create a cooler, greener, wilder and climate-resilient Adelaide that celebrates our unique culture.
Climate change, urban sprawl and infill, and loss of habitat are modern issues faced by many capital cities - and Adelaide is no exception. Green Adelaide is focused on investing in aligned activities, educating about nature, enabling partnerships, and delivering on-ground iconic projects.
In this segment, we hear from Christy and Nat, Green Adelaide Gardening experts. Both Christy and Nat are avid home gardeners who understand the multiple benefits of urban agriculture to individuals, communities and the environment.
Autumn (usually April to early June) is a good time in Adelaide to plant plants outdoors because Adelaidians can save water and worries as winter handles the watering and fresh plants can sizzle in the hot summer/spring sun.
Green Adelaide has practical advice and tips to help people with the gardening. We aim to make gardening easier to try. For more information visit: greenadelaide.sa.gov.au/discover/gardening
Everyone can create a greener, cooler, wilder Adelaide from their backyard, front yard, street, local park, beach or workplace. We all have a role to play.
