There were 3 main thoughts that we worry about and they cause a lot of uncomfortable feelings.
The 3 main thoughts are:
“If I make a mistake, I will be exposed as a fraud.” “If I make a mistake, I am ruined.” This is the Perfectionism mindset.
“I will disappoint everyone.” “I am responsible for everyone’s feelings and safety.” This is the Over-Responsibility mindset.
“I must be 100% certain.” “If I am not careful, bad things will happen.” This is the Intolerance of Uncertainty mindset.
In this episode, I will talk about how these play out in our lives and the place where you can override this alert system in your brain. Remember, the fight, flight, freeze, and fawn response system doesn’t turn off. There is no switch for that, BUT we can turn down the volume on the alarms. You can keep doing the things you want to with the alarms going off.
I will be offering "live, virtual" workshops starting THIS SATURDAY, March 11. Each Saturday, I will teach you a new tool or strategy to override worry and you can bring all your worries to the workshop and we can talk about them specifically. I can help you find a tool that will help you worry less. I want you to be able to make decisions that help you grow and expand your life!
