Choosing To Be Wounded Or Wise | Karen Faith - 540
Karen Faith is an ethnographer, a people researcher and an empathy trainer who's recent TED Talk captured my attention, so of course I reeled her in for a chat. I guess I should have expected just how deep I might go in conversation with an empathy trainer, and that we certainly did. The idea of empathy being teachable was a fascinating enough topic in itself, yet we talk about self-awareness in relationships and having good emotional hygiene (that's a new term for me and I love it).
As we discussed Karen's powerful TED Talk, How to talk to the worst parts of yourself, we opened the door on Karen's experience with sexual violence and how she (and I) have processed and thus chosen to be wise over being wounded from such experiences. This is yet another great chat that I hope you enjoy!
