Jesse and Kyle welcome Chester Moore to Talk is Sheep to talk wildlife, kids in the outdoors and hunting space and a higher calling.
Chester has worked as a wildlife journalist since he was 19 years old. He is Editor-In-Chief of Texas Fish & Game, host of “Moore Outdoors” radio on Newstalk AM 560 KLVI, host of the Higher Calling Wildlife podcast and author of 15 books on fishing, hunting and wildlife.
This is a unique podcast as we cover a wide array of subjects. Jesse and Kyle met Chester in San Antonio at the Wild Sheep Foundation Chapter and Affiliates Summit. Chester was providing media coverage of the event and he took an interest in WSSBC's new film documentary Transmission.
On this episode we talk about Chester's love for the outdoors, his connection to God and wildlife and how that has charted his path in life. He and his wife run the Wild Wishes® program that grants wildlife encounters to children with a critical illness or loss of a parent or sibling. Teens from the program have an opportunity to be part of their special conservation mentoring through Higher Calling Wildlife®
The premise of the program is that no one can understand wildlife in peril more than young people dealing with great struggles. This program empowers them and gives hope. And it helps create a NOW generation of purpose-filled, passionate conservationists understanding the North American Model of Conservation.
Chester has a powerful communication style and you will enjoy listening to his spiritual connection, his love for wildlife and his pursuit to giving troubled children a better life by introducing them to the outdoors and conservation.
