These "balloon" and UFO sightings are nothing new. The US government has acknowledged the existence of UFOs and has recently released declassified documents related to UFO sightings. In 2020, the US Department of Defense released videos showing unidentified aerial phenomena that had been captured by Navy pilots. However, the government has not made any official statements about the nature of these objects.
The modern era of UFO sightings began in 1947, when a pilot named Kenneth Arnold reported seeing nine "flying saucers" while flying near Mount Rainier in Washington state. This incident captured the public's attention and led to a wave of sightings across the United States.
The US government has investigated UFO sightings over the years. One of the most well-known investigations was Project Blue Book, a study conducted by the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1969. The project examined over 12,000 reported sightings of UFOs and concluded that most could be explained as natural phenomena or human-made objects.
Despite the conclusions of Project Blue Book and other investigations, some people believe that the government is hiding information about UFOs. The most famous example is the Roswell incident, which occurred in 1947 when a UFO allegedly crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. The US government initially claimed that the object was a weather balloon, but some people believe that it was actually an extraterrestrial spacecraft and that the government covered up the incident.
