How Depression Affects Black Women - 'Therapy-ish (ft. Na-Tasha Carter)
In this week’s episode of ‘Therapy-ish, we sit down with Na-Tasha Carter, a student intern therapist at Crave Counseling, who specializes in working with couples and BIPOC women.
This episode is all about the unique ways in which depression affects Black women. From the expectation of Black women to support and carry the baggage of so many people in their lives, to their frequent misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder, to the need for a space in which to be vulnerable and weak, Asha and Na-Tasha cover so much in this episode!
Therapy-ish was created with the mindset of removing the stigma around mental health and to help bridge the gap from the streets to the office. Our goal is to educate listeners on new ways to go about seeking help, becoming more aware of where we are, discuss therapy in traditional and non-traditional ways with expressing new ways to move forward in the world.
