Marta Kristen: the Living Legend from Lost in Space! (Season 02 Ep. #6)

Marta Kristen is an American actress best known for her role as Judy Robinson in the classic television series "Lost in Space." Born on February 26, 1945, in Oslo, Norway, Kristen was "discovered" by producer/director/writer James B. Harris while eating at a drive-in restaurant in Santa Monica. Despite initially declining to read for the part of Lolita, Harris made arrangements for Kristen to acquire an agent, leading to several guest roles in popular television shows of the time.

Kristen ultimately landed the role of Judy Robinson in "Lost in Space" after meeting with Irwin Allen, the series' producer. Initially hesitant to take the part due to concerns about the character's underutilization, Kristen agreed to the role after Allen pitched several potential script ideas. The series became a beloved science fiction classic and helped solidify Kristen's place in the hearts and minds of TV viewers.

After the series ended, Kristen continued to work in the entertainment industry, making over 40 TV commercials and guest-starring in popular TV shows such as "Mannix," "Remington Steele," and "Trapper John." She also appeared in a number of films, including Hallmark Hall of Fame's "Harvest of Fire," "Body Count," and the 1998 film adaptation of "Lost in Space."

In addition to her acting career, Kristen has been very active in theater on the West Coast, receiving praise for her performance in Arthur Kopit's award-winning play "Wings." She is also an avid traveler, especially in the Far East, where she enjoys trekking in the Himalayas.

Kristen is a shining example of resilience and positivity, having continued to lead a fulfilling life even after the loss of her spouse. She stays busy with various projects, including her newest film appearance in "A Bachelor's Valentine."
