What happens when your identity is tied to doing?
Have you ever felt so tied to what you do, to the roles you play that it feels impossible to separate it from who you are?
It can feel terrifying to walk away from something that you’ve placed so much or your value in. Especially if it’s a job, you worked hard to get in the first place.
That’s what happened to our guest today. Paula Faris had worked hard to climb the ladder going from intern all the way to anchoring Good Morning America.
Even though she had accomplished so many of her dreams, she felt an unsettledness in her spirit and it took a whole string of unfortunate events for her to have ’the come to Jesus moment’ she needed to take a step back.
And when she got honest with herself, she realized that one of the biggest fears she would ever conquer would be to leave what she had worked so hard to achieve.
